Within Milton Keynes we offer support to schools to enhance the provision to all young people of high quality Physical Education(PE), as well as having access to an outstanding range of extra curricular sport and physical activity and competitive opportunities both on school site and within their local community.

To acheive this we provide a unique range of services and expertise to schools including training for school staff, in school support through our primary PE specialists, coaching for extra curricular clubs, high quality sports competitions and opportunities for sports leadership and volunteering, which differentiates us from many other providers.

We are a service to schools providing the infrastructure and support for a full range of services to meet the requirements and expectations of the Primary PE and Sport Premium. With funding now pledged to the end of 2020, there is the security to plan for sustainable improvements in the quality of PE teaching and real opportunity to transform PE in primary schools and ensure physical literacy is embedded.

We feel the time is right to grow the current network within Milton KeynesSchool Sport Partnership, to incorporate significantly greater expertise and experience, to enhance the quality of support available to develop your Phyisical Education and School Sport provision.

The SSP receives £23,800 of national government funding to develop School Games across MK within its primary and secondary schools (not infant schools). Included within this funding:

A calendar of School Games competitions across the academic year for primary and secondary schools; minimum of 22 events; comprised of:

  • minimum of 10 Pathway Sports which provide a progression into County Final (Level 3) of which a minimum 3 inclusive Sports should be included
  • minimum of 2 Level 2 Development Competitions (Development Competitions are competitions with no progression to Level 3)
  • a minimum of 2 Level 2 Festivals targeting Yr 3/4 (festivals are interschool occasion which includes a rotation of skill based activities which challenge young people to achieve their personal best).

NB. The remainder of the c.8 events can be positioned appropriately at Level 2 to support the outcomes of the School Games.

• Support with sustaining Change4Life Clubs

• Support with application and verification of School Games Mark.

The funding received is utilised to meet the salary of the School Games Organiser and does not cover all of the essential delivery costs incurred. It is our ambition to provide these competitions in the most cost effective way possible and will only ever pass on costs actually incurred. We are continually striving to provide a relevant, suitable and vibrant PE, school sport, and physical activity offer for your young people. We therefore offer to all schools an extended package of support that can be purchased in addition to the nationally funded offer.

Our subscription offer outlined in the attached document is an additional service and represents an exciting mix of both new and proven opportunities, with prescribed and bespoke packages to meet the needs of individual schools priorities.
