MILTON KEYNES SCHOOLS SPORT PARTNERSHIP

Our Work

Within Milton Keynes we offer support to schools to enhance the provision to all young people of high quality Physical Education (PE), as well as having access to an outstanding range of extra-curricular sport and physical activity and competitive opportunities both on their school site and within their local community.

To achieve this we provide a range of services to schools including training for school staff, in school support through our primary PE specialists, coaching for extra-curricular clubs, high quality sports competitions and opportunities for sports leadership and volunteering.

Although the structure has changed over time our objectives remains the same.

Vision:

To support schools in educating all pupils to be physically literate and provide them with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary for a lifelong healthy lifestyle and participation in physical activity and sport.

What would this look like:

  • at least 2 hours of high quality curriculum PE per week
  • the engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – linking to healthy active lifestyles
  • the profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement
  • increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
  • broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
  • increased participation in competitive sport
  • community club links and talent development pathways
